This trip is available year round. Please let us know your required dates DAY 1 Arrival in Lima, meet assistance, and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon: guided city tour of the Historic Center of Lima and the Modern suburbs of Miraflores and San Isidro. Overnight. DAY 2 Upon arrival, meet and greet, and transfer to our office in Puerto Maldonado. Depending on the arrival time of the plane we have a boxed lunch aboard the boats so that you can eat it while you’re traveling or have lunch at the Posada Amazonas once we get there. On our way we might see a variety of bird species typical of the river or forest edge. Our afternoon activity will be at the canopy tower. Night at Posada Amazonas Lodge. DAY 3 You get up at dawn to visit the Tres Chimbadas oxbow lake. Departure after an early breakfast. From the Posada Amazonas, a 15-minute boat ride and a 30-minute walk take you to the lake shore. Then you have a long, easy canoe ride around the lake. You return to the lodge's trails in time for a visit to a small parakeet clay lick. Back again to the lodge for lunch before embarking on your afternoon outing: a visit to the Community's Ethno-botanical Center. Back to the Posada Amazonas for dinner. After enjoying our popular happy hour and good company, you might want to go for an optional night walk to look for amphibians and insects. Overnight. DAY 4 After an early breakfast you return to Puerto Maldonado for your flight to Cusco. Meet and greet at Cusco airport and transfer to your hotel in Cusco. Afternoon: a guided tour of the city will be offered which includes a visit to the nearby ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucara and Tambomachay. Overnight. DAY 5 After breakfast, you go to the train station where you embark on an exiting 3-hour Backpacker train journey to Macchu Picchu. You will arrive at the Aguas Calientes Station, from where you take a 25 minute bus ride to the ruins of Machu Picchu known as "The Lost City of the Incas". Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel. Lunch included in a local restaurant in Agiuas Calientes town. In the afternoon, you return to Cusco by train and transfer to your hotel. Overnight. DAY 6
After breakfast transfer to the bus station to take the tourist Bus from Cusco to Puno. On route, visit to Andahuaylillas, Raqchi and Pucara. Arrival in Puno and transfer to your hotel. Lunch included in a typical restaurant in Sicuani village. Overnight. DAY 7
After breakfast you will visit the most famous islands on Lake Titicaca which are the floating islands of the Uros. These artificial islands are made by tying totora reeds together which grow in the lake. They are the foundation of the islands, as well as of the huts, furniture, and the boats the Uros have. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight. DAY 8
Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima. En route we visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani, 12 m /40ft high stone cylinder burial chambers used by the Aymaras to bury their important leaders. |
