Day 1: San Pedro Sula - Copan (D) Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the San Pedro Sula International Airport and transferred to Copan Ruins through the scenic landscape of Honduras’ western territory - 2.5 hours drive. As you arrive, you will have the first glimpse of the colonial town of Copan Ruins and you will check-in to your hotel. Note: Pre-extension night in San Pedro Sula available with City & Banana Plantation Tour. Day 2: Copan Archaeological Park (B,L,D) (Underground Tunnels and Sculptural Museum) Morning departure to the Main Archaeological Park where our tour guide will lead you through this historical site. The relief in the carvings and hieroglyphic inscriptions have made Copan one of the most important centers of Maya studies. This is where history was carved in stone. The underground tunnels, Los Jaguares and Rosalila, lead you to one of Copan´s most important temples, Rosalila. You will see a full replica of the temple at the Sculptural Museum. Optional twilight visit to Macaw Mountain Bird Park. Day 3: Copan - Lake Yojoa & Pulhapanzak Waterfalls (B,L,D) You will be transferred to Lake Yojoa via Santa Barbara colonial town. On the way you will stop for a brief walk around the main square and visit the main Cathedral. The traditional arts and crafts of the Santabarbarenses are a unique product of Honduras that you will be able to distinguish along the road. Also, along the road, you will appreciate the beauty of the Lake. You will check-in to your hotel and will visit one of the highlights of this region, the Pulhapanzak Waterfalls, a natural enchantment. You will be able to enjoy the hotel’s magnificent location for a relaxing time. Day 4: Lake Yojoa - Tela (B,L,D) For those interested in a bird watching experience, there are prime locations in the hotel to admire the great variety of water birds; our tour guide will gladly show you around. This morning you will head to Tela in the Caribbean coast. On the way, you will stop at Lancetilla Botanical Garden, one of the finest collections of sub-tropical, tropical & ornamental trees in the world. You will have time to cool off at the beach. Day 5: Tela (Punta Sal National Park) (B,L,D) You will leave early in the morning to Punta Sal National Park, a completely protected area where nature and white sandy beaches will provide a great adventure day. A typical Garifuna (African descendants that came with the Spanish and still preserve their culture and traditions) lunch will be served at the park. Snorkeling and hiking trails available. Day 6: Tela - La Ceiba (B,L,D) On the way to La Ceiba you will stop to visit one of the Garifuna villages, El Triunfo de la Cruz. This village is well-known for its traditions and style of living based on fishing and natural resources. La Ceiba, surrounded by pristine beaches and just a few minutes away from the Bay Islands, has been rated one of the best ecological destinations in Central America. You will have a brief overview of La Ceiba before you head out to your hotel. Day 7: La Ceiba (B,L,D) All day to enjoy the beach and activities. Day 8: La Ceiba - San Pedro Sula Airport (B) After breakfast, you will be transferred to the San Pedro Sula Airport to take your international flight or post-extension tour to Roatan
