This trip is available year round. Please let us know your required dates DAY 1 Reception at the airport and transfer to the colonial city of Antigua. Accommodation in Antigua. DAY 2 Very early departure from Antigua for Copan, Honduras, where the ruins, full of great history, are visited. Exploration of the city, the cradle of Mayan art. The ruins of Copan are some the most visited in Honduras, and, in the afternoon, a visit to the arquaeological site of Quirigua, with the tallest inscriptions of the Mayan World. Accommodation in Livingston. (B) DAY 3 Tour of Rio Dulce, with its outstanding beauty, in a dense tropical forest. A contrast from the customs, traditions and history of the Mayans of the Caribbean. A tour by boat through Rio Dulce and the Lake of Izabal, surrounded by a variety of birds and compelled by a delightful sea-breeze and intense tropical greenness. Directly to Flores in the afternoon at the end of this tour. Accommodation in Flores. (B) DAY 4 Departure from the hotel at 7.00 am, to the largest Mayan city in history. The Mayan civilization made the dense tropical forest of the Petén their home. Here, their most impressive astronomical, mathematical, architectural and artistic successes flourished. This tour lasts five hours, at the end of which there is time for lunch, and later in the afternoon, the transfer to the city of Coban. (B) DAY 5 Departure from the hotel at 7.30am, to Semuc Champey, a region of profound natural beauty where cloud forests, orchids, waterfalls, crystalline natural pools and caves offer a mix of beauty, history and adventure in a way that few destinations in Latin America could offer. In the afternoon, a return to Coban for one more night's accommodation in Hotel Alcazar. (B) DAY 6 Departure from coban for a cloud forest walk, best known for being the natural habitat of majestic bird, the Quetzal, whose feathers adorned the heads of Mayan Kings and Princes. At the end of the trip, return to Guatemala City for the final night's accommodation in Guatemala City. (B) DAY 7 Transfer from the hotel to the airport to catch return the flight home. (B)
