Our Aventura Pacifica begins by exploring the area around the majestic and explosive Arenal Volcano. Then, it's off to Monteverde Cloud forest Reserve in search of Capuchin Monkeys, Scarlet Macaws, and Two and Three-Toed Sloths. The day before heading to the lively town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio, we climb into the rain forest canopy for a high adrenaline adventure along the zip lines and rope traverses of Monteverde. Day 7 finds us enjoying the white water of the Rio Naranjo - Class II - III rapids all morning long! Our adventures wind down as we travel to our secluded Costa Rican jungle lodge on the South Pacific side of the country. Perched on a rocky bluff, La Cusinga overlooks some of Costa Rica's most pristine beach and offers countless opportunities for tours of both the marine world and lush rainforest nearby.

Begin your Costa Rica tour at Tiskita Jungle Lodge, where you'll enjoy the rustic yet luxurious ambiance of this out-of-the-way gem. After exploring the jungle around Tiskita with a naturalist guide, head down to the beach with a boogie board or grab a snorkel and mask to discover the underwater world of nearby tide pools. Before heading to Monteverde Reserve to explore the cloudforest ecosystem, stop for a night at Arenal Volcano and witness the famed glowing red lava flows.

After an exhilarating two-day whitewater rafting trip, we head toward the untamed Osa Peninsula and Corcovado National Park - one of the only places in Costa Rica where large groups of the endangered scarlet macaw still color the sky. Off the beaten path enough to avoid the Costa Rica vacation crowds, Corcovado will reward you with spectacular scenery and unmatched opportunities to spot elusive wildlife. We'll use the park's trail system to stroll along the deserted beach, marked in places with cascading waterfalls, as well as to penetrate the dense interior rainforest. National Geographic calls Corcovado "the most biologically intense place on Earth" - surely a destination to put on your "don't miss" list!
